About Cody Allen Counseling
Individual and Couples Counseling for Ages 10+ in Argyle & Southlake, TX
Choosing a counselor is a personal decision. Most people who reach out are not looking for someone to “fix” them — they’re looking for a space that feels steady, supportive, and genuine.
I believe therapy works best when you feel heard, respected, and free to show up as you are. My role is not to tell you what to do, but to walk alongside you as we make sense of what you’re experiencing and identify what may help you move forward.
MY APPROACH
My approach to counseling is collaborative, thoughtful, and grounded in respect for each person’s unique experiences. Sessions are structured enough to feel purposeful, while still flexible enough to meet you where you are.
Together, we focus on:
Understanding patterns that may be contributing to stress or emotional pain
Increasing awareness of thoughts, emotions, and behaviors
Developing tools that fit your life, values, and goals
Moving at a pace that feels manageable and supportive
Therapy is not about rushing change. It’s about creating space for clarity, growth, and relief over time.
IN-PERSON & TELEHEALTH
I offer in-person counseling for clients in and around Argyle and Southlake, Texas, as well as secure telehealth sessions for those who prefer to meet online.
Both options provide the same level of care, privacy, and attention.
WHO I WORK WITH
I provide counseling for children (ages 10–12), teens, adults, and couples.
Common areas of focus include:
Anxiety and chronic worry
Depression and emotional heaviness
Trauma and overwhelming experiences
ADHD and challenges with focus or organization
OCD and intrusive thoughts or compulsive behaviors
Grief and major life transitions
Relationship and communication difficulties
Clients come from many different backgrounds and life stages. You do not need to have everything figured out before starting.
ADULTS
Adults often come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck in familiar patterns, or unsure why certain challenges keep showing up in their lives. Counseling offers a space to slow down, reflect, and better understand the thoughts, emotions, and experiences shaping daily life.
In our work together, we focus on increasing clarity, developing practical tools, and addressing both current stressors and deeper patterns — all at a pace that feels steady and manageable.
COUPLES
Couples therapy is a space to slow down patterns that feel stuck or painful. Rather than assigning blame, we work to understand what’s happening beneath the surface and how to communicate more effectively.
Couples often seek counseling during times of transition, conflict, or emotional distance — or simply when they want to strengthen their connection.
CHILDREN & TEENS
When working with children and teens, I focus on helping them better understand their emotions, develop coping skills, and feel supported in a way that is age-appropriate and respectful.
Parents are involved in a collaborative way that supports the child’s growth while honoring appropriate boundaries and privacy.
PRIVATE-PAY PRACTICE
As a private-pay practice, I’m able to focus fully on your needs rather than insurance requirements. This allows for greater flexibility, increased privacy, and a more personalized approach to care.
Many clients find this structure creates a more comfortable and collaborative therapy experience.
If you’re considering therapy and wondering whether this might be a good fit, I invite you to reach out.
